You have probably heard of staging your home. Did you dismiss it because you thought it might not be worth the hassle? Staging your home will be worth it, even if you do it yourself!
There are many professionals who will come and stage your home for you. They are experienced in this and if your home is vacant, they will come with their own furnishings! If you are still living in the home and decide to stage it yourself, here are some tips.
The most important thing to do is remain impartial! You purchased this home, you loved it and now you want the buyer to love it as much as you do. The potential buyers do not have any memories in the home yet, so it is important to try to step back to when you bought it, and figure out what drew you to the home then.
Go through your home room by room and decide if you have too many items in there. If your rooms look cluttered, start decluttering. This doesn’t mean you need to get rid of the items, but it might be a good time to start packing and rent a storage unit. You want the potential buyers to see your home, not your furniture.
Take any extra furniture out of your home and arrange what is left in a typical manner. If you have a dining room that you use as an office, set up your table in that room instead. If your spare room is a fitness room, try setting it up as a spare room.
The first thing anybody sees is the front of your home. Paint your front door, add some flowers and make your home inviting from the outside.
Staging your home can be as easy as the things above. When you are ready to buy or sell, visit my website or call me direct Ken Couture, 702-610-6247.
